We roast some of the most diverse and interesting coffees from across India. Our coffee is good for the forest it comes from, good for the people who grow it. Good for the trees we help conserve and the wildlife that it supports. And just as good to drink. What does this make us, you ask? Some might say conservationists, activists or researchers. Others might say specialty coffee roasters. We can make peace with not fully knowing ourselves. Do try our coffees, then write back. We love letters!
We decided to do microlots because Indian coffee is simply far too diverse and heterogenous to standardise a roast and call it a day! Also, because we work directly with so many smallholder producers, we end up with beautiful but very small lots of coffee. For e.g. in 2018, 134 women in BR Hills harvested, hand-pulped and segregated coffee for us. This became Microlot 8! In 2019, Karadigod Estate honey-pulped a tiny bit of Arabica Parchment. This will also find its way into a microlot! Usually, we do these small lot, limited edition coffees till stocks last. Enjoy!
Natural, sun-dried Arabica from Guyya, Kodagu
Throw back to our very first microlot from 2017. Same farm, same lot, beans harvested from under only native tree species, including the endemic Holigarna beddomei.
Lot Size: 55 kgs.
These are our usual suspects. You can depend on on these coffees to be in stock all year around. So don't feel shy to lean on one or two of them to play a role in your morning or afternoon routine!

Sometimes we can't help share our favourite brewing apparatus with you! Check out our travel log of all the unique places we have brewed coffee using our Aeropress. @blackbazaontheroad is here
